Southington PD Cruiser Involved in Thursday Crash

The cruiser and another vehicle collided at a busy intersection.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington police cruiser was hit at a busy intersection on Thursday, police said.

On Thursday at 1:48 PM, Officer Tim Wilk was operating a marked Southington police cruiser and traveling in a northerly direction on Meriden Avenue, police said.

the intersection of Meriden Avenue, police said.

As the cruiser reached the intersection of Belleview Avenue, Sliwa's vehicle began entering the intersection from Belleview Avenue onto Meriden Avenue, police said.

The vehicles collided in the intersection, police said.

Wilk was treated and released for minor injuries at Bradley Memorial Hospital, police said.

Sliwa did not report any injuries.
