Southington Police Seek Witnesses To Serious Crash Involving Motorcyclist

Authorities are looking for information about a June 17 crash on Andrews Street that left a motorcyclist critically injured.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a head-on crash on Andrews Street in Southington last week, and police are asking the public for information as the investigation continues.

According to the Southington Police Department, the collision occurred at about 6:02 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, in the area of Andrews Street, just north of Long Bottom Road.

Police said a 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 was traveling south on Andrews Street while a 2026 Suzuki GSX800F motorcycle was traveling north.

Initial investigators determined that the vehicles were navigating a sharp turn when a head-on collision occurred.

The motorcycle operator suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to The Hospital of Central Connecticut's New Britain campus for treatment, according to police.

The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries, remained at the scene, and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
