Southington Prom Shop Desperately Seeking Suits (For Boys)
Southington officials say there is a waiting list for local boys seeking free suits for prom season at the town's 'Prom Shop.'

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town's popular "Prom Shop," where local teens can get free prom attire and accessories — has gotten off to a successful start, with many being helped.
But there is one problem.
The shop, operated by Southington Community Services, has had so much demand for men's suits for the boys to wear that there is a waiting list for 2025.

This is why the town is asking folks to go through their closet and, if they have a suit they no longer wear and it still might be usable, donate it to the prom shop.
Of course, all donations will be accepted as well, from prom dresses to jewelry, but prom attire for the boys is a particularly acute need.

Those with suits are asked to bring them, along with any dress shirts, to: Southington Community Services, 91 Norton St., Plantsville. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
