Southington Restaurant Hit by Same Type of Car 6 Months Apart
A Southington Restaurant has been hit by a car for the second time in about six months — and by the same type of car — police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington Restaurant has been hit by a car for the second time in about six months — and by the same type of car — police said.
The Hop Haus is located at 28 W. Main St., police said.
The latest incident was on Saturday, when a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling west on Main Street, police said. The car went through an intersection, hopped a curb, traveled through a dirt lot and hit the restaurant, police said.

It left a hole measuring about 12 feet, police said.
The driver was cited for traveling too fast, according to police.

Restaurant staffers said the Hop Haus was running on normal hours this week.
The Hop Haus was also hit by a Jetta on Sept. 17.
Jut before 2:30 a.m., a Jetta was traveling westbound on West Main Street when the car exited the roadway and struck the eastern side of the Hop Haus restaurant, police said.
