Southington School Board Schedules Special Meeting Next Month for 'Student Matters'

SOUTHINGTON, CT - The Board of Education has scheduled an afternoon special meeting on July 21, "for the purpose of conducting confidential student matters."

There was no other explanation Wednesday about the meeting on the official posting. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. on a Thursday at the municipal center public assembly room, 200 North Main St.

The board is expected to immediately go into executive session for a "hearing," and potential action, according to the meeting agenda. Any formal action will take place in public session, as required, according to the agenda.

Administrators are not elaborating, but the vague posting does not violate any freedom of information law.
