Southington School Lunch Price Increase Starts Next Year
A la carte items aren't selling as well after replacing items like ice cream sandwiches with health snacks.

Southington will raise its school lunch prices by 25 cents for the next school year.
The Record-Journal reports the school system lost about $8,500 in profits from school lunches for the current school year through April 30.
One reason for the drop is that student aren’t buying as many a la carte items, which used to consist of pizza, ice cream sandwiches and other items. Those have been replaced by healthier items.
