Southington School Takes Steps to Prevent Insect Infestation

The school system is taking steps to preventing a stinging insect infestation at Strong School athletic fields.

Parents complained about the number of bees or wasps at the fields and feared that their children might be put in harms way, according to the Record-Journal.

A section of the field was reseeded in October on the advice of entomologists because it could make it harder for burrowing insects to come back.
