SOUTHINGTON, CT — School officials announced recently they're preparing to destroy special education records on file for some students, giving folks until April 14 to pick them up.

According to the Southington Public Schools' Department of Pupil Services, the records are for students who graduated from the Southington School System between 2013 and 2017.

School officials said students or parents may need those records for Social Security benefits and other purposes.
