Southington Schools Make Decision for Tomorrow

The superintendent has made his decision.

In an email to parents School Superintendent Tim Connellan announced the Following:

I am pleased to report that school will open on time Wednesday morning and we will proceed with the early release day as scheduled on the approved calendar. I was informed that the roads were cleared earlier today and that all the bus stops were addressed.

The school access sidewalks for which the Town is responsible were cleared as well. Our schools are all set although we do have one contractor still working at three schools right now. I have been assured that they will be ready for the morning.

The Town road crews will be back out at 4:00 a.m. to address any remaining issues and we will have contractors back to address any issues that may arise. Therefore it appears that we will be able to open on time tomorrow and follow the scheduled early release and professional development day as planned.

If there are any bus stops that were missed or need additional attention, please let the school system know so they can be addressed by the Town crew. There are a number of school access sidewalks that are the responsibility of private property owners. If any of those present a problem, please let us know and we will pass the information along so that it can be addressed.
