Southington Solar Farm Plan Still Has Green Light

Several dozen neighbors and some councilors voiced opposition to the plan. A motion to overturn a previous council decision was defeated.

The Southington Town Council voted against a motion to overturn a previous vote that OK’d a solar farm near Hatton School.

The Record-Journal reports that several dozen neighbors and some councilors voiced opposition to the plan in order to preserve an undeveloped piece of land.

Three elementary schools will be outfitted with solar panels and the move could save the town $42,000 a year.
