Southington Target Employee Charged in Secret Shipping Scheme

Most of the stuff was high-end, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A an employee of the Southington Target is accused to trying to clandestinely send herself high-end items she picked off the shelves, police said.

On July 19, Bonnie Davis, 31 of Bristol, was turned over to the Southington Police Department by the Farmington police, according to a report. She was charged with third-degree larceny and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on July 31, police said.

At 11:23 a.m. on April 13, Southington police received a call from the Target store at 600 Executive Boulevard about an employee theft investigation involving Davis.

An arrest warrant alleges that on April 8 — and on another unspecified date — Davis selected "numerous high-dollar items" from the shelves at Target and placed them into a shopping cart.

Davis then allegedly took the merchandise to the delivery area, where she placed the items into a box and had the items shipped to her residence, according to an arrest warrant.

Most of the merchandise was electronics, according to a warrant. Target staffers told police the items had a value of $5,653.
