Students "Freaked Out" by Reportedly Drunk Southington Teacher

New details have surfaced in last month's case where a Southington High School teacher was put on leave.

New details have surface about how students were reportedly terrified after a Southington High School teacher allegedly came into school drunk.

Surveillance footage showed John Hansen bumping into lockers on his way into school and roughhousing with students during the Pledge of Allegiance, according to the Hartford Courant.

Someone eventually alerted the vice principal that Hansen was either drunk or high and that students were “freaked out.”

Hansen denied being drunk at school and said he had only drank the night before. He failed a breathalyzer test, according to the Courant.
