Teen Accused of Dragging Woman Through Southington Hotel Parking Lot by the Hair
The two are dating, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A Waterbury teen is accused of going caveman on a woman at a Southington hotel.
On Wednesday at 9:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Econo Lodge motel at 1845 Meriden Waterbury Turnpike, for a domestic incident, according to a police report.
Jonathan Dacosta, 19 of Waterbury, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, a police report indicates. Dacosta was processed and held on a $50,000 bond overnight and was to appear in court Thursday, police said.

Police said Dacosta and a woman were involved in a verbal argument in the parking lot of the motel. During the course of the argument, Dacosta became angry and allegedly grabbed the woman by the hair, pulled her through the parking lot by the hair and then threw her to the ground, police said.
A witness reported seeing Dacosta kick the woman while she was on the ground, police said.

Dacosta and the woman then climbed into a vehicle and drove to the Starplex Movie Theatre parking lot, adjacent to the motel, police said. When they saw police arriving, Dacosta and the woman hid in a wooded area until they were located by a law enforcement canine unit, according to a report.
Dacosta was taken then into custody and the woman refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
The Victim and Dacosta are in a dating relationship, police said.
