Three Southington Students to Receive Superintendent Award

Three Southington Public Schools students have been selected as recipients of the CAPSS award.

Three Southington Public Schools students have been selected as recipients of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents award.

The students are honored for their academic achievements and community service.

Jessica Goralski, a senior at Southington High School is ranked fifth in her class with a 110.10 GPA. She is also a member of the school’s math team, National Honor Society, and soccer team. She is also a student ambassador and helps new students adjust to high school life.

She is also an avid volunteer with Special Olympics, the American Red Cross and American Cancer Society.

Ben Palladino is an 8th-grader at Joseph A. DePaolo Middle School. He is involved in cross country, Alex’s Lemonade, ski club, builders club and leadership program.

He won the PResident’s Award, Student of the Month Award and has been honored at the Bagel Breakfast. He participates in the YMCA community service, lacrosse, snowboarding and plays guitar.

Julia Semmel is also an 8th-grader at the school. She has participated in The Giving Back Girls, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Calendar House, Relay for Life, Southington Brass Band and Music of the Knight.
