Tractor-Trailer/Vehicle Wreck Cleared In Southington: UPDATE

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A major accident involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle caused major traffic issues for motorists on Interstate 84 Tuesday, but it is now cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the crash was on I-84 Westbound between exits 32 and 31.

As a result of the wreck, the DOT reports the right shoulder was closed.

The DOT reported a 2-mile traffic jam between exits 33 and 31 because of the accident, a jam that at its worst was reported at 4 miles.

The crash was first reported at 3:10 p.m. and by 4:30 p.m., it was no longer listed on the DOT's accident report list.
