The Saturday morning accident involved a Bristol woman and a Hartford man.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Bristol woman and a Hartford man were rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning following a head-on collision on Interstate 84 involving a wrong-way driver.
According to Connecticut State Police, the crash happened on I-84 westbound in Southington at about 2:48 a.m.
State police said they're looking for witnesses regarding the accident and they released an accident report later Saturday morning detailing what happened.

According to the report, a 2004 BMW being driven by a 44-year-old Hartford man was traveling in the center lane of I-84 west in Southington, east of the Exit 30 off ramp.
Meanwhile, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra being driven by Bristol resident Jasmin Jones, 29, of Pine Brook Terrace, was traveling the wrong way on I-84 west, heading in an easterly direction, according to the accident report.

That's when Jones' Hyundai collided head-on with the BMW, with her vehicle coming to an uncontrolled rest in the grass median, police said.
According to the report, Jones was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury for suspected serious injuries.
Police said the BMW came to an uncontrolled rest in the right shoulder, with the 44-year-old Hartford man being taken to New Britain Hospital with suspected "moderate injuries."
Both drivers were the lone occupants of their respective vehicles, which were towed away due to disabling damage.
Saturday morning's crash comes as the state continues to monitor and address the preponderance of wrong-way collisions on Connecticut roads in recent months.
Last October, Southington was chosen as the site for a state Department of Transportation press conference addressing the problem.
There, state officials unveiled new technology near I-84 in Southington featuring LED-flashing features aimed at stopping wrong-way drivers before they get on the highway.
It was not clear Saturday morning whether that came into play as the investigation is ongoing.
