Understanding the difference between generic and name brand drugs

BERLIN – Taking medications – especially several – can be confusing. A free program, “What is the Difference between Generic and Name Brand Drugs?” on Wednesday, July 11, 12:30 p.m., will include discussion about the similarities and differences, including pricing. The event is designed to keep seniors “drug smart.” Medication safety tips include: keeping track of medications, starting and stopping as directed, taking them correctly, as well as proper storage and disposal.

The program will be held at Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive. Presenter will be Addolorata M. Ciccone, PharmD., geriatric clinical pharmacist, Jefferson House, program sponsor.
