Update: Incident Cleared On I-84 Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A vehicle fire on Interstate 84 in Southington Tuesday afternoon caused a few headaches for rush-hour motorists, but it was cleared nearly an hour later.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the fire was reported on I-84's eastbound side between exits 31 and 32.

The DOT said via Twitter the situation was cleared by 5:44 p.m.

DOT officials said the left lane was closed and the fire was reported at 4:44 p.m. Tuesday.
