Crash On I-84 Cleared In Southington: Update

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 84 Thursday afternoon caused major traffic headaches for motorists in Southington, but it is now cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, traffic on I-84 east was snarled due to a crash between exits 32 and 33.

As a result of the crash, the left lane was closed, according to the state.

The accident was first reported at 2:59 p.m., but it was reported cleared after 4:30 p.m.

It came on a day where separate crashes in West Hartford (two of them) and Farmington (two of them) snarled traffic in the I-84 area for much of Thursday.
