SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A local woman was arrested on a warrant Wednesday morning after an investigation concluded she created a fake Facebook account in the name of a woman she had previously been told not to contact, then used the account to post disparaging and harassing remarks, police said.

Stacia Lanway, 61, of 271 Avery Street, was charged with second-degree harassment, second-degree violating conditions of release and violation of a protective order. She turned herself in at South Windsor police headquarters and was held on $100,000 bond, pending an appearance later Wednesday in Manchester Superior Court.

The charges stem from a Dec. 2020 investigation in which Lanway digitally harassed the woman, in violation of a protective order and conditions of release. This is the fourth incident in which Lanway has been arrested for harassing the woman, police said.
