A pair of female pitbulls suffering from skin infections were found in an East Hartford park Saturday.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A pair of pitbulls found abandoned in an East Hartford park over the weekend are being cared for at a South Windsor animal shelter.

The two female pitbulls, both suffering from serious skin infections due to an overgrowth of yeast and bacteria, are being treated at the Tyler Regional Animal Care Shelter on Sullivan Avenue. The shelter serves the communities of South Windsor, East Hartford and Manchester.

A person believed to be the owner of the dogs was seen leaving Martin Park in East Hartford Saturday, the shelter said on its Facebook page.
