• Verizon Seeks To Add 12 Antennas To South Windsor Tower (patch.com) — South Windsor could see stronger wireless coverage as Verizon seeks state approval to add 12 antennas and related equipment to the town-owned emergency communications tower on Sullivan Avenue. The Connecticut Siting Council is reviewing the request, which includes a generator and cabinets inside the existing compound, after local zoning approval and technical studies found the tower can safely support the upgrades.
   

• South Windsor Schools Awarded Vital Grant (patch.com) — South Windsor Public Schools are receiving $301,240 in new state funding to expand special education programming, part of Connecticut's High-Quality Special Education Incentive Grant Program. The money can support staffing, training, technology, and other services that help students with disabilities learn in their home community. State officials say such grants aim to ease rising local special education costs.
   

• Woman arrested on warrant in South Windsor (newportdispatch.com) — Two recent police cases in South Windsor led to arrests tied to a hit-and-run crash and an alleged shoplifting at Target on Buckland Hills Drive. A Windsor Locks woman faces multiple motor vehicle charges after a June accident, while a Vernon man was arrested nearby in Evergreen Walk on theft and drug counts. Both are due in Manchester Superior Court.
