Blood Collection Facilities in Manchester, South Windsor Temporarily Shut Down

Blood collection facilities in Manchester and South Windsor have been temporarily shut down by state health officials because the company has been operating them without the necessary state certificate, according to a report by Connecticut Health I-Team.

The state Department of Public Health this month issued a cease and desist order to Accu Reference Medical Laboratory, which has locations at 945 Main St. in Manchester and 25 Oakland Road in South Windsor.

Accu Reference has had a clinical laboratory license since November 2013, according to the Department of Public Health, and it is cooperating with the investigation.

Non-compliance with the cease and desist order could result in a suspension of Accu Reference’s clinical laboratory license, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.
