School Bus Driver Charged After South Windsor Students Fight During Ride
Authorities allege the driver did not act as several minors targeted and fought other students on the bus.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A New Britain man who was driving a school bus in South Windsor is accused of failing to step in during repeated fights involving children, an incident that police say unfolded over roughly 25 minutes last fall.
According to an email from the South Windsor Police Department, officers arrested Dominic M. Jimerson, 61, on an active warrant at about 12:31 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. The charges stem from an October 2025 incident in which Jimerson was the bus driver for 12 minor students.
Police said that during a 25-minute period on the bus, several students “targeted and fought other students,” while Jimerson “failed to intervene.” Investigators allege that he “failed to address the behavior,” which police say “impaired the morals and safety of all students on the bus.”
