Camp Life is the Best Life at Camp Merrie-Wood

Girls K-12 can learn more about Camp Merrie-Wood at its open house May 1

Summer is rapidly approaching, and parents are looking for a fun, safe environment for their girls. The good news is that girls can spend their summer at Camp Merrie-Wood making memories to last a lifetime.

Camp Merrie-Wood in Manchester, CT offers fun and challenging activities for all girls in grades K-12! Operated by Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Camp Merrie-Wood is proud to be licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the American Camp Association which shows a commitment to offering high quality programs, meeting safety standards, and following the best business practices.

At all of our day camps, girls can take part in new programs while participating in all of the traditional activities camp has to offer. Girls can sample culture and learn different skills in outdoor cooking, food prep, safety, and take away a passport filled with recipes to take home with the program International Food Traveler, chart the stars, build a rocket, and then pack their gear with the Trip to Mars program, and refine their outdoor living skills in fire building, shelter making, and trail signs at Girl Scout Survival Camp.

Each member of our summer camp staff has been carefully screened and chosen for their skills and experience. All staff receives more than 30 hours of training in child development, teambuilding, safety, and risk management.

All girls in grades K-12 are welcome at Camp Merrie-Wood, which offers bus services from many local towns, including South Windsor. The camp will be hosting an open house at its facilities May 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit gsofct.org for more information and directions.
