Car Windows Smashed, Purses Stolen at LA Fitness
South Windsor Police are investigating after four vehicles were burglarized in the LA Fitness parking lot early Monday morning.

Four vehicles were burglarized in the LA Fitness parking lot on Buckland Road early Monday morning.
South Windsor Police investigated the break-ins at about 6:15 a.m. and say the suspect(s) smashed the side window of four cars and removed a purse from each car. The victims lost their cash, checkbooks and cell phones due to the thefts.
The involved vehicles were a Silver Ford Fusion, a white Audi Q5, a black VW Jetta, and a Ford Escape, according to police.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity at the gym between 6:00 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. this morning is asked to contact the South Windsor Police at 860-644-2551.
Last week, two vehicles were burglarized in Nevers Park in the afternoon when the suspect(s) also smashed car windows and stole purses.

South Windsor Police are reminding residents to protect their belongings and not leave them visible inside their cars.
“As we approach the holiday shopping season citizens are reminded to hide valuable items such as purses, laptop bags, GPS units and phones in the vehicle trunk, or under a privacy screen in SUV’s, to deter thieves,” Deputy Chief Scott Custer said.
