Car Windows Smashed; Purses, Wallets Stolen at LA Fitness

South Windsor Police are investigating after six vehicle break-ins were reported at the L.A. Fitness gym on Buckland Road on Monday.

Police said that in all instances the suspect(s) smashed windows to remove purses, a laptop and wallets that were in plain view on the rear seat. The break-ins are thought to have occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity or has information about these cases is asked to contact the South Windsor Police Department at 860-644-2551.

“We suggest that motorists check their vehicles before exiting, making sure all valuable items are hidden from view or stowed in the trunk,” Deputy Chief Scott Custer said. “When possible, park in a well-lit area in view of the business front doors and report suspicious activity immediately.”
