Child Found In Car During DUI Investigation: Police
Police said officers found the 36-year-old driver and a child in a parked car on Chapel Road.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Vernon woman was charged with driving under the influence and risk of injury to a child Wednesday after police found her in a parked car with a child inside, according to South Windsor police.
Cierra N. Akrasi-Danso, 36, was arrested at 3:55 p.m. Oct. 7.
Officers were sent to the CREC school at 625 Chapel Road after a report of a woman “loading a child into a car and stumbling around,” police said.

They found the vehicle parked at KinderCare, 494 Chapel Road, and identified Akrasi-Danso as the driver. A child was inside the vehicle, police said.

Police said their investigation indicated she was under the influence of alcohol. She agreed to take field sobriety tests and failed them, according to the department.
Akrasi-Danso was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court at 9 a.m. Oct. 23.
The charges are allegations. Akrasi-Danso has not been convicted in this case.
