Contractor Accused Of Skipping Out on SW Soccer Club Project
A local contractor is accused of skipping out on an agreement to install an artificial surface at the South Windsor Soccer Club facility.

SOUTH WINDSOR —A local contractor is accused of skipping out on an agreement to install an artificial surface at the South Windsor Soccer Club facility and was charged with second-degree larceny on Wednesday as a result, police said.
Robert Malloy, 45, surrendered on a warrant Wednesday, police said.
The conract was to install an artificual turf surface at the soccer club's facility at 1257 John Fitch Boulevard, police said. The job, agreed to in May, was worth just short of $17,000, police said.

In August, with the job not started, the club terminated trhe contract and asked for the money back. After several "excuses," Malloy was given until November to reimburse the club, which he never did. police said.
A warrant was then secured in December, police said.

Malloy posted a $5,000 bond and is set to appear in court on Jan 22, police said.
