Elderly Man Found Dead in South Windsor Yard
Police said the man had apparently been struck and killed by a falling branch while cutting trees.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — An elderly man who had been cutting trees in his yard was found dead Wednesday afternoon, Deputy Police Chief Scott Custer said.
The man, who was in his 80s but has not yet been identified, had been apparently been struck and killed by a falling branch when he was found by a relative on his King Street property around 2 p.m., Custer said.
Police believe the man had been dead for nearly an hour before they received notice, Custer said.
