Familiar Face Foils South Windsor Girls' Soccer in Overtime

South Windsor resident Alyssa Fiori scores game-winning goal for East Catholic.

The South Windsor girls’ soccer team was foiled by a familiar face in suffering its first loss of the season Tuesday at South Windsor High School.

South Windsor resident Alyssa Fiori, a sophomore on East Catholic, scored with 4 minutes, 4 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to lift the Eagles to a 1-0 victory over South Windsor.

“I know all of them,” Fiori told Derek Turner of GameTimeCT about beating her hometown and friends. “I went to school with all of them and it was just a shock, the look on their faces. It just felt good.”
