Fugitive In Sex Assault Case Nabbed After South Windsor Crash

A man living in Manchester, wanted in a Massachusetts sex assault case, was arrested after a crash in South Wndsor, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A man with a Manchester address was arrested on a sexual assault warrant out of Massachusetts after his car slammed into a utility pole in South Windsor on Memorial Day, police said.

The crash took place on Monday at 7:25 p.m., according to a report. A vehicle driven by 42-year-old Humberto Guzman struck a utility pole in the area of Route 5 and the Interstate-291 Eastbound on ramp.

Guzman, whose listed address is on North Street in Manchester, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence, according to a report.

Police then discovered that Guzman had an extraditable warrant out of Framingham, MA in a 2001 sexual assault case. He was then held on a $1 million bond as a fugitive from justice, according to a report. He was to appear in court Tuesday.
