Garbage Catches Fire on Spinners Run in South Windsor

Quick thinking by a garbage truck operator helped South Windsor Firefighters extinguish a fire, and save the truck, on Spinners Run Tuesday morning.

South Windsor police and fire crews responded to a fire in the cul-de-sac of Spinners Run.

Police said the garbage truck operator heard a popping noise and realized the load was on fire. He dumped the trash in the cul-de-sac to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
