Man Arrested in Connection with South Windsor Crash That Injured 2

The suspect had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when he ran a red light and struck another car in April, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - A South Windsor man was arrested Wednesday morning on a warrant stemming from an April auto accident which injured two people.

Aaron Doby, 26, of 1789 Main St., East Hartford, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to obey control signal. He was held on $40,000 surety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Wednesday.

The charges stem from an April 2016 motor vehicle accident on Route 5 at Burnham Street. The investigation found that Doby was operating his vehicle while intoxicated, ran a red light striking another car and injuring the two occupants of that vehicle, Deputy Police Chief Scott Custer said.
