Man Arrested on DUI, Cocaine Charges
South Windsor Police say the man crashed into a utility pole and officers later found cocaine in the vehicle.

A Vernon man faces several charges stemming from an alleged DUI incident in which he struck a utility pole this past fall in South Windsor.
South Windsor Police arrested James Borovicka, 55, of 655 Talcottville Road, Vernon, at about 3 a.m. on Dec. 31 on an arrest warrant.
Borovicka was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, possession of cocaine and failure to drive in proper lane.

South Windsor Police say Borovicka’s charges stem from an October 2015 motor vehicle accident on Niederwerfer Road where he struck a utility pole. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation of injuries and officers later found cocaine in the vehicle, according to police.
Officers obtained his medical records via search warrant and later arrested him via warrant.

Borovicka was held on $35,000 court-set bond and was presented at Manchester Superior Court later Thursday morning.
