Man Charged with DUI While Child Slept in Backseat
The man was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and the child wasn't wearing a seatbelt, according to South Windsor Police.
South Windsor Police have charged a Windsor man with operating under the influence of alcohol while a child under the age of 10 was sleeping in the backseat and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Joseph Ramos, 41, was pulled over at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6 for a violation on John Street Blvd. in South Windsor.
Officers noted that Ramos appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and police said there was a young child asleep in the back seat who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Ramos was arrested following a series of roadside sobriety tests, according to police.
Ramos, of 23 Grace Street, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, risk of injury to a minor, failure to wear seatbelt and failure to secure child. He was held on a $5,000 surety bond and was presented at Manchester Superior Court on Tuesday, July 7.
