Man Rescued from Sandbar in Connecticut River

Firefighters from South Windsor and Windsor were able to bring the fisherman to shore early Wednesday morning.

SOUTH WINDSOR - Rescue personnel from two towns were able to aid a fisherman who had become stuck on a sandbar in the Connecticut River early Wednesday morning, Fox61 reported.

The man had been reported missing by a friend around 1 a.m., prompting response from both South Windsor and Windsor firefighters.

The man was located using thermal imaging cameras and brought safely to shore, Fox61 said.
