Man Stole More Than $7K from Employer: South Windsor Police
Police arrested the man on a warrant for the thefts that occurred over the summer.

South Windsor Police charged a Hartford man with stealing more than $7,000 from the retail store he worked at.
Derrick Stewart, 42, of 164 Babcock Street in Hartford, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday and charged with third-degree larceny.
Police said Stewart’s charge stems from fraudulent transactions he conducted in August and September 2015 totaling more than $7,000.

Store managers from a Buckland Road retail stored discovered that an employee, Stewart, was entering fake merchandise returns and taking cash from the register.
Stewart admitted the scheme when he was confronted and an arrest warrant was later obtained, according to police.

Stewart was later released on a $50,000 court-set surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 12.
