Man Strikes Woman, Tries To Prevent 911 Call: Police

A South Windsor man is accused of hitting a woman during a domestic dispute and trying to prevent her from calling 911.

A South Windsor man is accused of striking a woman during a domestic dispute and trying to prevent her from calling 911, according to police.

South Windsor Police responded to a Summer Hill Drive home at about 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 on the report of a domestic dispute.

Officers learned that a man had struck a woman and took the phone from her to prevent a 911 call from being placed.

After interviewing the involved persons and witnesses, officers arrested the man, Tymus Ford, 24, of 1101 Summer Hill Drive.

Ford was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interference with an emergency call. He was held on a $2,500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
