Man Tries to Purchase iPads with Fake $100 Bills: South Windsor Police
Police said the suspect attempted to purchase the iPads with eight $100 bills that were determined to be counterfeit.

South Windsor police have charged a Brooklyn, N.Y. man with attempting to buy iPads with eight counterfeit $100 bills.
South Windsor Police Officer Jacob Truebig was on foot patrol in Evergreen Walk on Aug. 13 and was approached by a store manager about a suspicious transaction, according to Lt. Scott Custer.
A man had just tried to purchase iPads with eight $100 bills that felt fake. The officer determined the bills were in fact counterfeit and located the suspect.

The man denied knowing the bills were fake and after some investigation officers arrested the man, Jonathan Cruz, 22, of 46142 2nd St., Brooklyn, NY.
Cruz was charged with first-degree forgery and was held on a $5,000 surety bond. Cruz was presented at Manchester Superior Court on Aug. 14.
