
Meet Queen Elizabeth I at the January 11 meeting of the South Windsor Historical Society. Also known as Elizabeth Regina, Good Queen Bess, Glorianna, The Virgin Queen, and Elizabeth Tudor, she will be enacted by Carolyn Ivanoff at Wood Memorial Library, 783 Main St., South Windsor, at 7 p.m.
Ivanoff is an assistant principal at Shelton Intermediate School, a member of the 14th CT reenactment regiment, and a former Civil War Trust’s Civil War Teacher of the Year. She writes and speaks frequently on American history. Her programs have received several awards from the Connecticut League of History Organizations and other associations. She previously made a popular Civil War medicine program here two years ago. The presentation will include slides and be followed by a question session and refreshments. This program is open to the public. Registration is not necessary. Suggested donation is $3.00 for members of the South Windsor Historical Society and Wood Memorial Library or $5.00 for the general public.
