A muddy ride led to drug charges in South Windsor, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Am early-morning, muddy ride along the Connecticut River led to drug charges against the driver of a pickup truck, police said,
At about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, a South Windsor Police officer located a suspicious vehicle on Vibert Road near the Connecticut River, according to a report.
The vehicle was covered in mud and the operator admitted to driving on farmland near the river, according to a report.

Officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and found approximately 3 ounces of heroin, along with marijuana, and a "large" amount of money, police said.
The man acknowledged selling drugs to make money, according to a report.

Officers arrested the man, Luis Arriaga, 37, of 93 Gold Street, New Britain, and charged him with simple trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, operation of a drug factory, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of marijuana greater than a half-ounce, a report indicates.
Arriaga was held on $150,000 surety bond and was to be presented at Manchester Superior Court on Tuesday, police said.
