Novena for Divine Mercy to be Held in South Windsor

Local parishes and Knights of Columbus to coordinate the program at St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor April 3-12, 2015

SOUTH WINDSOR – A novena for Divine Mercy will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church beginning on Good Friday and ending on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12. Knights of Columbus Council 5779 is coordinating the novena with the priests of the South Windsor parishes. The novena will begin at 7PM on April 3, 2015, when the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited. The Chaplet will be recited each day on the following schedule: Holy Saturday (April 4) at 3PM, at 7PM on Easter Sunday and each day between April 6 and 10, at 3PM on Saturday April 11 and again at 3PM on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12.

The prayers of the chaplet will be provided.

Short talks will be given at each gathering. Topics will range from an introduction to Divine Mercy to the life of Sister Maria Faustina Kowalska, the Polish nun recognized for having visions of and conversations with Jesus about devotion to the Divine Mercy; an explanation of the chaplet, the value of confession, and the image of Divine Mercy.

Reconciliation will be offered in conjunction with the novena at 7PM April 7-10.
