Police Searching for South Windsor Robbery Suspect

The suspect told employees of a retail store he had a gun, according to police.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police are seeking information about the identity of a man who stole merchandise from a South Windsor store Monday and told employees attempting to stop him he had a gun.

Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, employees of a Buckland Road retail store observed a male attempting to steal several computer tablets. The employees attempted to stop the suspect as he exited the store, at which point the suspect said he had a gun and fled. No weapon was shown, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, appearing to be in his mid 30s to mid 40s, wearing a black coat, knit hat, yellow shirt and jeans, police said.

The suspect was seen getting into a gray or silver Kia Soul bearing PA registration JHK7252. The vehicle is a rental car and has been spotted in the Hartford area as recently as Tuesday, police said.
