Fire Contained Quickly at South Windsor Church
Officials say the fire was in the building, but not in the sanctuary section.

South Windsor firefighters were able to quickly knock down a fire at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 109 Sand Hill Road early Saturday morning.
Firefighters responded to a report of smoke and upon arrival, they were able to determine a fire was in the building, but not the sanctuary section, according to officials.
Officials say crews used three lines and knocked down the main fire within half an hour. A second alarm was struck bringing mutual aid to the scene, including Manchester 8th District with and Engine and Tower, Broad Brook and Ellington with an engine each. Stations were covered by Manchester Fire Rescue, East Hartford and Vernon Fire Departments, according to officials.
