SOUTH WINDSOR, CT --- Temple Beth Hillel of South Windsor is pleased to announce the return of its annual Rosh Hashanah Honey Fundraiser. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, and like many Jewish holidays, there are certain food customs associated with it. One of the most beloved of such customs is to dip apples into honey on Rosh Hashanah. The sweet combination promotes the Jewish tradition of eating sweet foods to express the hope for a sweet new year. In anticipation of this new year, anyone can purchase a distinctive 8-ounce jar of kosher honey to arrive in time for the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday. Each bottle is decorated with a festive label that includes a personalized card.
Proceeds from each honey sale will directly benefit the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Hillel. The Sisterhood is a non-profit diverse group of women, from working professionals to stay-at-home moms, ranging in age from young to old. They are committed to personal growth, Jewish involvement, community, learning and establishing and maintaining a meaningful Jewish lifestyle.
