South Windsor's Savidge Awarded Isidore Wise Scholarship
Connecticut Children's Medical Center presented five awards on June 11.

On June 11, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center presented five Isidore Wise Scholarship Awards to local high school seniors pursuing a post secondary education this fall. The scholarship program, established through the bequest of Mr. Isidore Wise, a member of Newington Children’s Hospital Board of Directors for more than 45 years, recognizes exemplary students who currently are or have been patients of Newington Children’s Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center or students of the CCMC School.
“The 2013 Wise Scholars are a wonderful testament to the legacy of Isidore Wise. Each of them has faced serious medical challenges, yet they never gave up hope for a bright and successful future. They have excelled academically and been outstanding members of their school and civic communities. We are honored to recognize these deserving young men and women with a Wise Scholarship,” said Martha Schall, Foundation President.
This year, the Isidore Wise Selection Committee received more than 100 applications from high school students throughout Connecticut. Mark Ferreira of Rocky Hill, Siobhan O’Neil of Burlington, Brandon Parris of Hartford, Luke Pepper of Torrington and Timothy Savidge of South Windsor were selected by the committee for an Isidore Wise Scholarship following a panel interview and thorough evaluation of academic achievements and future educational goals.
