UPDATED: Sewer Line Breach Closes Road in South Windsor

Police said the line needs immediate repair and the road will be closed until further notice.

Update:

Police said the sanitary sewer line breach on Main St. is a “significant event” and the road might be closed for the rest of the week.

“Public Works crews are establishing a sewer bypass in order to isolate damage and determine best course for repairs,“ Lt. Scott Custer said. “Main Street between Oxbow Lane and Sullivan Ave will likely remain closed to through traffic for several days.”

Main Street between Oxbow Lane and Sullivan Avenue is closed due to a sewer line breach that needs immediate repair, according to South Windsor police.

Police said the road might remain closed overnight.

Local traffic should be able to reach their driveways but police said thru-traffic will not be permitted.

Police will update when the reopens.
