SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A 25-year-old Vernon resident already in custody on a $50,000 bond for a series of store robberies and attempted robberies in Manchester had another $20,000 tacked onto his cases on Tuesday, this time for a caper in South Windsor.

South Windsor police on Tuesday arrested 25-year-old Logan Baker at Manchester Superior Court. A warrant charged him with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny in connection with an April robbery investigation at an Oakland Road convenience store.

Baker is accused of entering the store, implying he had a gun through a sweatshirt pocket and demanding money from a clerk.

On May 7 at the Best Gas store in Manchester, he is accused of pulling the same pocket move with the sweatshirt, according to case records. The clerk handed over $395 in cash and a pack of Marlboro Red cigarettes, according to case records.

On May 9, a man in a mask entered the same store, but he left when a customer arrived, case records show.

A few days later, the same robber held up the Hartford Road Gulf station at about 10:30 p.m., getting away with about $200 cash and a pack of Newport cigarettes, according to a report. The man again implied he had a weapon, police said.

At the Food Bag on Center Street on May 10, a man wearing sunglasses, a mask and a dark hoodie tried to enter the store at about 4:30 a.m., but the clerk said he would not push a button to unlock the door, police said.

Baker has been charged with a variety of larceny and robbery-related crimes in connection with the Manchester incidents.
