South Windsor Cops Seize Cash And Stash After Traffic Stop

A South Windsor man is facing a variety of drug charges after a traffic stop.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor police confiscated thousands of dollars in cash and a drug stash after a traffic stop on Tuesday, a report indicates.

At 2:02 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested 36-year-old Stephen Iacobucci of South Windsor and charged him with possession of more than a half-ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, cocaine possession, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, operating a drug factory, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock device.

According to a report, Iacobucci was operating an unregistered motor vehicle on a local road and was stopped. Police then learned Iacobucci was required to use an Ignition Interlock Device, which the vehicle did not have, a report says.

A report also indicates that a "strong odor of unburnt marijuana" was "emanating from the vehicle."

Iacobucci then handed the officer a bag containing about 94 grams of marijuana.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of:

  • $12,104 in cash
  • One blue tin box containing one digital scale, one "clear knotted plastic bag" containing 19 grams of cocaine, one "clear zip lock bag" containing a "white powder residue," and one "Apple Brand zip lock bag" containing "19 smaller, clean zip lock bags."
  • Approximately 96 grams of marijuana
  • One ZTE Cell Phone
  • A Google Pixel Cell phone
  • Five Sativa THC cartridges
  • Three Hybrid THC cartridges

Police said Iacobucci was released on a $25,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 30.
